Private Lesson Programs

Rotational lesson buddies

Exploratory Lessons:

“Exploratory” Lessons offer the perfect blend of one-on-one, independent, and group instruction for students looking to discover music through the use of the piano or their voice.

Kids and families today are so busy! As a parent, you want to give them all of the opportunities but it can be difficult juggling homework, sports schedules and music practice. That is where the exploratory lesson program comes in!

Each week, students spend one hour in the studio with two other students. All three students rotate through one-on-one piano or voice private instruction, supervised focused practice, and independent project time.

Students experience ear training, theory, composition, music history and more without having to take work home. Once a month, students together gather as a trio for a musicianship and performance class in lieu of their regular rotation.

At home assignments are limited to two per week to maximize your time at home for other activities.

Achievement Lessons:

“Achievement” Lessons provide dedicated piano, voice, guitar, and organ students with tailored tutoring focusing on technique, repertoire and theory.

For students that are ready to commit to their instrument (piano, voice, guitar, or organ) and their musical journey, the achievement level lesson program will challenge them to grow and create new connections between what they hear, what they see and what they perform.

Private students are encouraged to explore different genres of music and figure out what they truly like to play and perform.

Each student receives forty-five minutes of individualized instruction weekly and is required to perform in a recital, competition, audition or festival setting every semester.

Mini-MusicMakers:

“Mini-MusicMaker” Lessons provide a fun filled musical foundation and introduction to private piano and singing lessons!

Preschoolers and early elementary students are full of energy and curiosity. We embrace this wholeheartedly with the goal of starting a lifelong love of music

Using off-the-bench manipulatives like play dough, paint, and percussion instruments, students are able to flex their motor skills and sharpen their sensory awareness. Fun, simple to follow notation in the written music used in lessons allows even pre-readers to succeed with performing songs from lesson one.

Our Mini-MusicMakers are encouraged to explore their instrument and share what they have learned with their loved ones, but no formal at home assignments are given, and no practice is required between students’ weekly 20 minute lessons.

“How do I know which program is the best fit?”

Mini-MusicMaker Lessons:

are suitable for all beginners ages 4+, but cater to our youngest students. They are a perfect fit for pretenders and those that struggle with independent work and/or at home assignments.

Exploratory Lessons:

are suitable for students aged 6-adult. Students can enter this program as fresh beginners, or when demonstrating their ability to work independently as Mini-MusicMaker students.

Achievement Lessons:

are best suited for students that list their music lessons as a “top three priority” in their schedule. They are recommended for students that have had at least one year of exploratory lessons and are at least 8 years of age.

“He has learned so much more than we anticipated, and he still enjoys playing everyday and we attribute this to Ashley's incredible way of teaching. She is so patient and always encouraging”
